With one months left for exams, SOL students have no syllabus

Just one month before the first semester examination of Masters in Commerce, the School of Open Learning (SOL) has not even come up with the syllabus. Shockingly, no study material for History and Political Science is available for students.
‘Study material not there. How are we supposed to prepare when we don’t have syllabus,’ said a post graduate student of SOL.
According to sources, syllabus for MCom is in process and whereas study material for History and Political Science is not available. First semester exams are scheduled for November this year.
Correspondence students have not yet got any study material from SOL. ‘Authorities are saving money and not sending the study material to us,’ said Omkar , a student of SOL.
However, authorities have different take on the issue. ‘Study material is available in library. For compulsory subjects, it is given to students whereas for optional it is available in library. We are doing our best to make it available to students,’ said Tapan P Biswal, Deputy Director of SOL, North campus.
SOL’s post graduation exams are held in consonance with regular students of the university.
