Uttarakhand Tunnel Collapse: Explained

On November 12, the Silkyara-Barkot tunnel under construction on the Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarkhand collapsed at dawn,trapping 41 workers inside. The tunnel is part of the Char Dham project to improve connectivity to Badrinath, kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, the popular pilgrimmage sites for Hindus.
