The Police arrested an Afghan national on June 8 after the man was posing himself as an Indian citizen and intended to board a Moscow bound flight (AI-155). He went for the immigration clearance but did not look like an Indian citizen, which made the immigration official suspicious and his travel details were checked. The accused had named himself Rahul Chopra, a resident of Kirti Nagar in his fake passport for immigration clearance.
The immigration officials suspected and during interrogation he failed to describe the address which was mentioned in his passport. Later, police verified the address which was mentioned in the passport, has been locked for the last four years. The accused revealed that he is an Afghan national who is residing in India as a tenant for the last 20 years and his real name is Charan Singh. He is currently living in Vikash Puri on rent for the last one year. The police filed a case under the relevant sections of the IPC against the accused.
