In order to rid Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus of gender-based violence, the varsity has started an online gender relation survey for its students.
Confirming the news about the survey, vice-chancellor Sudhir Kumar Sopory said, ‘Yes, it is true that the university has started an online gender survey. This survey is aimed at making us arrive at a better understanding of what happened on the campus. It will help us as a community understand the gender violence and sexual harassment.’ He said JNU has set up a 10-member committee for the purpose of carrying out the survey.
Rector Sudha Pai has been appointed as the chairperson of the committee.
JNU has of late witnessed a spate in gender-based violence.
