According to reports, Pahlaj Nihalani was on Friday removed from the post of Central Board of Film Certification chairman and will be replaced by Bollywood lyricist and screenwriter Prasoon Joshi as CBFC chairman.

The Kolkata office of the censor board in it's intimation to "Shunyota" ("Emptiness") makers has cited "differences of opinion among members of the (examining) committee regarding certification" as a reason to refer it to the chairman for the decision on certification.
