Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami met the protesting farmers at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and assured them to provide support and help as they demanded loan waivers, drought relief packages and formation of a Cauvery management board to resolve their irrigation issues.

Stalin in a statement demanded that Chief Minister K. Palaniswami should disclose contents of the letter in a transparent manner.

The latest incident of arrest is the fifth such detention of Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy this month.
