Strengthen party from booth-level, BJP’s new mantra

Delhi BJP is planning to rope in its booth level workers to give their input to prepare development and welfare plans for the city to be implemented by the Central government. The party is working hard for a strategy to present a performers’ face before it goes to seek votes in the unavoidable Delhi assembly elections in near future.

‘The booth level workers are the backbone of our party who convince the voters. We want to ensure their participation and say in the plan for Delhi, we are planning to present before our government in the Centre for implementation,’ said a senior leader of the party. The party brass had a meeting on Tuesday which was also attended by district and state office bearers.

‘The plan will take momentum after election of new president which is expected by mid of June,’ said the leader. As the city is facing stagnancy in development for the past one year, the party workers at lower ranks are now facing the heat of voters for development as BJP has government in the centre. The present president of Delhi BJP and now Union health minister had also emphasised on several occasions that he would pressurise the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to work as per his manifesto and promises once BJP comes to power in the centre.

According to sources, the party is planning to start work on most of the promises unfulfilled by former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. The promises of water, power, development of unauthorised colonies, issues of villages, pollution in Yamuna and health issues are likely to be addressed on priority. There are over 10,000 booth level workers of BJP in the city in the 14 political districts.
