Since many people apply online, there are lots of queries. So, to help students we have decided to provide them with helpline numbers in two or three day’s time. Though it may not be a 24x7 helpline number, we plan to operate from 8 am to 8 pm,’ said O P Sharma, Assistant Registrar, School of Open Learning. The authorities have tried to make online admission process simpler but still students’ face problems at various stages. The only number which is available for students is the general SOL query number.
Right now, we don’t have a specific helpline number. But I do receive lots of calls, regarding various problems faced by students while filling online forms. We have 30 channels in Primary Rate Interfere. So, we can surely have two or three helpline numbers for students,’ said sources in SOL. According to the in charge of computer department in SOL, the online process has been converted into four steps — the first step should be login in and filling the general details by students. In the second step, students are required to fill their educational qualifications. In the third step, they need to choose subjects and in the last step students will have to upload necessary documents.
Payments need to be made the next day. After the second step, the information is saved and students can continue anytime further. For those who wish to apply offline, the process will begin from 25 June.
