Raids across Delhi show corruption unlimited


The teams inspected six private hospitals but the facilities for EWS category patients in these hospitals were not being extended. ‘In Fortis there was neither any help-desk nor free medicines. In Shanti Mukund hospital only one patient was admitted against 14 beds under EWS quota but he was not provided free medicines and none of the 96 OPD patients were provided free consultation. 

In RLKC Metro hospital, the EWS patients were made to pay for services,’ said the spokesperson of Delhi government. The denial of free services to EWS category patients was also reported from BL Kapur Hospital, Pusa Road, while Primus Super Specialty Hospital and Fortis Escorts Heart Institute were found providing EWS services. The teams also found touts in action besides poor facilities in several government hospitals. In DDU hospital, two sweepers were suspended and services of four private guards were terminated for extorting money from patients and their relatives on promise of better and quick services.

Teams conducted raids on 25 petrol pumps and inspected 430 dispensers. In four cases, licensees have been prosecuted for dispensing lesser quantity. In eight cases, prosecution has been lodged for non display of verification certificate of the dispensing machine. 

Teams inspected 11 LPG agencies in the national capital and also intercepted vehicles going for home delivery of LPG cylinders. In five cases, the gas in cylinders was found underweight up to 850 gms. Defaulters have been prosecuted under Section 30 of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009. In case of repeated offenders, FIRs will be lodged and cases will be sent to court for trial.
