Quack held for injecting steroids in patients’ bodies

The district health department with the help of the Drug Control Department busted another racket of a doctor who was illegally injecting steroids to patients without holding a MBBS degree.  The fraud doctor was identified as Raghubir Yadav, a resident of Riwari district, who used to book guest houses in Gurgaon, Riwari and areas of Alwar in order to keep his appointments with the patients.

According to the police, the doctor used to inject steroids to treat people with asthma, joint pains and allergies. His business was spread over various districts in Haryana and Rajasthan.

A team from the District Health Department headed to a guest house in the city with the police after receiving a tip-off. Three Chinese machines and hundreds of steroid injections were recovered from there.

The team of the health department also urged people to do a background check before contacting such doctors through banners and posters, because in majority of these cases, the doctors are not registered.

The team also said that these steroids are extremely harmful for the human body and should not be used without consulting with a classified and registered doctor. These injections tend to make the human bone hollow, they added.

A case has been registered against the doctor in Sector 5 police station and the doctor has been arrested. Police also revealed that the doctor used to make one lakh per day as he used to see more than 100 patients each day without having a degree in medicine.
