Police nab gang leader from Ahmedabad

A joint team of Delhi and Gujarat police have arrested a leader of a gang involved in <g data-gr-id="36">inter-state</g> robbery, from Ahmedabad and seized from his possession gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 1.5 crore.

The entire case was solved after Delhi Police sleuths brainstormed  footages from 15 CCTV cameras, officials said on Tuesday. Mohan Bhai Shodasa, 48, was also involved in two similar cases of robbery of cash and jewellery in the past. In one of the two robberies, a person had been robbed off his money after he was waiting on his motorcycle at a red light crossing after coming out of a bank in Preet Vihar in Delhi. Shadosa was arrested last week from Gujarat.

The police examined the footage of the CCTV camera installed at the signal and 14 other cameras and prepared sketches of the suspects. Some of the faces were common in the footages. Despite the dossiers not matching, the police scanned them and a similar case was noticed in the year 2013. Shodasa's  gang used to fly by air to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad and find out banks located on main roads, where from fleeing would be easier after robbing.
