On Rajpath, New Delhi, Republic Day celebration has been historically marked by immense pomp, pride and patriotic valour. The biggest parade of India’s armed forces, it is held through Raisina Hill, Rashtrapati Bhawan, along Rajpath past India Gate. While the Capital is engulfed in fog and cold, viewers flog to the heart of the city to witness this celebration of colour, tradition and Indian-ness. In remembering the Indian Republic, we memorialise our country’s struggle in times of colonial domination.
