Architectural Marvel

Painting the skyline of Gwalior, the Gwalior Fort is of extreme importance to the rich history and heritage of the city. The fort is an architectural marvel that bears testimony to the excellent craftsmanship that existed during medieval times. Often known as ‘The Pearl amongst Fortresses in India’ by Mughal emperor Babur, the Gwalior Fort is one of the most impregnable fortresses in central India. The fort has existed at least since the 10th century, and the inscriptions and monuments found within indicate that it may have existed since as early as the 6th century.
