Peter Mukerjea quizzed for third consecutive day

Former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea was quizzed for the third consecutive day in connection with the sensational Sheena Bora murder case on Friday. On Thursday, the police claimed his wife Indrani Mukerjea had “confessed” to the crime.

Besides Peter, his step-daughter <g data-gr-id="31">Vidhie</g> and Sheena’s biological father Siddharth Das also arrived at the police station, where both are likely to be questioned. Peter reached the police station around 11.20 am to record his statement. <g data-gr-id="27">Vidhie</g> arrived half-an-hour later, police said. Das also reached the police station around 12.30 pm, they said.

On Thursday, the police had grilled Das on various aspects and his statement was recorded. He was at the Khar police station from 8 pm to 3 am.

The police are also probing financial details obtained from Peter who had on Thursday brought along his CA and had bank statements, documents pertaining to the registration of companies and the books of his various companies.

Das was flown to Mumbai from Kolkata on Thursday evening and is understood to have been brought face-to-face with the accused. His statement has been recorded and his sample collected for a DNA test.

A senior police official said that Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria is likely to brief media soon on the progress of the investigation. Peter was questioned till late Thursday night by the Khar police. Indrani’s ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyamvar Rai were quizzed in other rooms at the police station.

The police custody of the three accused – Indrani, Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai – ends on Saturday.
