NOCAS 2.0 launched for height nod near airports

Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Wednesday inaugurated the online No Objection Certificate Application System (NOCAS) version 2.0 for for the purpose of accepting NOC applications for height clearance to structures around airports.

Raju said the NOCAS version 2.0 has increased the transparency in the system and will will help in easing the business further. NOCAS is the online system for the purpose of accepting NOC applications for height clearance for structures such as buildings, masts, chimney, and transmission lines around airports. The status of the application can also be tracked by the applicant under the system. AAI has been entrusted with the responsibility of issuance of such certificate. 

"Flight safety and security cannot be compromised at any cost and we need to develop our systems in such a way that safety and security considerations are taken into account while ensuring progress towards economic development," he said. Civil Aviation Secretary R N Choubey said unnecessary human interface leads to delay and has to be replaced by online systems.
