Haryana CM approves grant for development projects in Karnal
chandigarh: The ‘Jan Samvad’ programme of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar proved significant in many ways for the residents of the Indri assembly constituency in district Karnal.
While on the one hand, the chief minister approved grants for development works, on the other hand, he redressed the grievances and complaints of the people on the spot. In addition, Old Age Samman Allowance and ‘Parivar Pehchan Patra’ (PPP) were also made on the spot, for which the people expressed gratitude to the state government.
Conceding the demands put forth by MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap and sarpanches of nearby villages, the chief minister said that work for the repair, strengthening, and widening of 15 roads of 76 kilometers length of Indri constituency would be done at the cost of Rs 25 crore. He also accorded approval to complete the pending work of Barat Ghar, the renovation of SC Chaupal, the road to Shiv Dham, the boundary wall and shed, and the opening of the Ayurveda dispensary. He said that an amount of Rs 2.24 crore has so far been spent on development works in Jainpur Sadhan village.
During the ‘Jan Samvad’ programme, a complainant from Ramgarh village apprised the chief minister some people had forcibly occupied the grazing land for the last 28 years. He directed deputy commissioner, Anish Yadav to conduct a hearing into the matter on August 16 at 11 am and apprise him.
Many people of the village had also appealed to the officials of the concerned departments, but no action was taken in this matter. The chief minister was surprised to hear that more than 17 acres of panchayat land had been encroached upon by people for such a long time. He directed deputy commissioner, Anish Yadav to conduct a hearing into the matter on August 16 at 11 am and apprise him.
Similarly, another complainant from Kalri Jagir village recounted an incident where he was attacked with a knife on December 2, 2022. He possessed photographic evidence of the injury and a medical report. Despite that, the police did not arrest anyone in this connection, and they seemed unresponsive to his pleas. On this, the chief minister directed the superintendent of police, Shashank Kumar Sawan to personally conduct an investigation into this case on August 16 at 11 am. Besides, he also directed him to investigate all similar pending cases in the district.
During the ‘Jan Samvad’ Programme, the chief minister also accepted the request made by the sarpanches to establish a village secretariat and a gymnasium. He said that a plan has been prepared to open a library in the village according to the village population.
