These eradicable diseases, according to Vardhan, are Cervical Cancer, Swine Flue, Rabies, Tetanus and Small Pox among others.
‘There are 26 more diseases in India which can be can be eradicated from the country by prevented nationwide vaccination campaign,’ said Harsh Vardhan, who effectively implemented the polio eradication campaign in Delhi.
Vardhan who is presently leader of opposition in Delhi assembly implemented the pulse polio programme in the national capital city from 1993-98 as health minister of Delhi. The programme was then adopted on pan-India level which succeeded as a polio free country.
Vardhan who has received several national and global awards for his endeavour in polio- eradication campaign a strong will strong will power, collective social service, co-operation of Central and state governments and Social Organisations is necessary. These eradicable diseases, according to Vardhan could be prevented by a nationwide vaccination campaign.
