Kumar Vishwas attacks BJP, Bedi during a rally in East Vinod Nagar

Kumar on Monday said that BJP’s victory run would stop in Delhi. “Narendra Modi’s victory chariot would stop here in Delhi. The scenario would be absolutely different here,” said Vishwas.

He further said that the BJP launched its election campaign banking on ‘Modi magic,’ but later it began importing leaders who were earlier part of the Anna Hazare movement. “It clearly shows that there is a leadership vacuum in BJP and they are totally dependent on those who were earlier a part Anna’s anti-corruption movement,” added Vishwas.

When asked what was the need to introduce Bedi, he said: “It all started with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally, which was expected to draw at least 1 lakh people. However, there were only around 20,000.  This drove the BJP to consider if the ‘Modi magic’ was beginning to lose its sheen, said Vishwas.

He further said he was busy in earning his own livelihood and doing shows across the country that kept him away from active politics for quite a while. Now, with elections at the doorstep, he has come  back and is busy campaigning for the party.

Vishwas also added: “Our volunteers are the followers of non-violence but they are not ‘impotent’.”
Vishwas was not active since June last year. It was reported that he was not happy with the party and maintained distance from it. He left the three-day national executive meeting of AAP then which began in the shadow of a letter war between the party’s top leaders including Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav. Vishwas then quit the meeting in between citing health reasons.
