In a major reshuffle, 16 IAS, four HCS officers shifted

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the state government has issued transfer orders of 16 IAS and four HCS (Haryana Civil Services) officials. These officials include the top-level bureaucrats of Gurgaon being transffered within months from holding the respective positions.

Commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) Vikas Gupta has been made special secretary to the state government and Director, Urban Local Bodies.

On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner Gurgaon, T L Satyaprakash has been given additional charge for MCG till further order.

Newly appointed, HUDA administrator Anshaj Singh has been transferred as Director, Science and Technology, Haryana. Hardeep Singh, an HCS officer, will be the new HUDA administrator. Anshaj Singh’s tenure as the HUDA administrator was for only a month.

However, these frequent transfers have not been welcomed by Gurgaon as many feel it has been hampering the projects planned for the city’s development.

According to a senior Congress leader, since BJP started ruling the state, development in Gurgaon has been hampered. All these transfers depend upon the likings of the CM.

Apart from these, the Divisional Forest Officers of five southern Haryana districts, including Gurgaon and Faridabad, were transferred on Sunday.

Gurgaon DFO Vasvi Tyagi will remain in the district but will also be in-charge as the Divisional Forest Officer (wildlife). Palwal DFO Sunder Lal Sambhariya has been transferred to Mahendragarh while R Anand, the DFO of Rewari, has been given charge of Rohtak. Faridabad DFO Ranjita has been moved to Palwal and Mahendragarh DFO Ved Prakash will now be DFO (eco tourism). Only Mewat has been left untouched, but its DFO retires on December 31.

Sources revealed that they were promised a tenure of at least two years, before which they wont be transferred. None of the them were expecting transfers, as it has not even been an year that they completed in office.

The transfer has come at a time when environmentalists are up in arms against the state government’s decision to allow construction in the sensitive natural conservation zones which includes areas in and around the Aravalis.
