I am not a scapegoat, will emerge as giant killer like Kejriwal: Nupur

In an interaction with Siddheshwar Shukla, she shares her views on her choice, challenges and merits. Excerpts:

You are being called a scapegoat against a giant politician like Arvind Kejriwal?
Was Arvind Kejriwal a scapegoat in 2013? The same people used to call him a scapegoat in the last assembly elections when he had challenged three-time Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit. But you know the result. I am here to become a “giant killer” and not a scapegoat.

Don’t you think the party should have given you a safe seat to make your entry easier in Delhi assembly and not pitted you against Kejriwal?
I have chosen it myself. I am born and brought up in New Delhi area. I had a dream to contest from New Delhi and now my party has given me the chance.

What are your plans against Arvind Kejriwal?
What had he done for the people of New Delhi? Nothing. After being elected, he became the Chief Minister, then resigned and went to Varanasi to contest for the post of the Prime Minister. How many times had he visited the people of New Delhi since he returned from Varanasi? Actually, people here are politically orphaned and they have been like this for the past 16 years, first by Sheila Dikshit and then by Kejriwal. People know that Delhi is facing re-election wonly due to Kejriwal and their hard earned money is being wasted.

Why should voters prefer you against Kejriwal?
I want to work for them. I am hard working and young. I will be the most accessible MLA of the area. Furthermore, people know that the area is completely controlled by the central government and development would be easy if a BJP candidate represents them. My experience in student politics is hugely helping me to connect with the youths.

But only 47 percent residents of New Delhi are registered as voters and lower class is in majority?
Kejriwal won by 25,864 votes in 2013. But in Lok Sabha election BJP had polled around 11,000 votes more than AAP from New Delhi.
