In what looks like a case of honour killing, a 27-year-old man was pushed to death from the fourth floor of a building in Sushant Lok by two relatives of a woman on Sunday. The two accused have been arrested.
The victim, Ishwar (27), was a scrap dealer at Adarshnagar in Delhi. According to the police, Ishwar, who was in a relationship with an 18-year-old beautician, was already married to another woman for three years.
The police said Ishwar had come to the city to meet his girlfriend and celebrate their first Valentines Day together. The duo had become friends on Facebook and had met several times.
The police said Ishwar came to the Huda City Centre Metro station, where the woman was waiting for him. From there, they headed to her rented accommodation in Sushant Lok. But the woman’s brother-in-law, Ramesh, and his friend, Anil Kumar, got to know about Ishwar’s presence in her room. They allegedly barged into her room and started questioning Ishwar as Ramesh was against her relationship with Ishwar. When she asked them to keep away from the matter, the duo got enraged and had a fight with Ishwar. They pushed Ishwar from the balcony of her room on the fourth floor, leading to his death on the spot.
Police sources said Ishwar, who originaly hailed from Ahmedabad, was already married to another woman and February 14 was their third wedding anniversary. However, the police are yet to find out if the woman knew about Ishwar’s marital status.
“Ishwar’s body has been taken for autopsy and a case has been registered against the woman’s relatives. The two accused have been arrested,” said Deepak Saharan, DCP East, Gurgaon.
