Govt to organise ‘Happening Haryana’ in Mar ’16 to boost industrial development

To promote industrial development in the Haryana, a three-day industrial event called ‘Happening Haryana’ — the first global investor conference will be organised in Gurgaon in March 2016, Commerce and Industry minister, Capt Abhimanyu said on Monday.

Speaking at an ASSOCHAM and Gurgaon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) event held in Gurgaon on Monday, he also said the new integrated licensing policy (NILP) of Haryana government can generate direct and indirect revenues worth Rs 50,000 crore to Rs one lakh crore for the state exchequer in about next two years.

“My personal assumption with this new integrated licensing policy that we have announced, is that it has the potential of generating minimum Rs 50,000 crore to Rs 1,00,000 crore of direct and indirect revenues and earnings for the government in just a couple of years,” said Capt Abhimanyu.

He also said that to make Gurgaon as the ‘lifestyle destination of India’ there is a need to promote healthcare, education and entertainment sectors in the city.

“We want to create an environment where we do not have to deal with anything offline at all, we want to avoid human interaction as much as possible so that everything works smoothly. So to make things easy for people, the government is looking to give approvals, clearances and sanctions on various fronts through online mode” said the minister.

Capt Abhimanyu further informed: “We are also working on creating a state resident database, which would be a demographic and geographic database, once we do this we believe that every inch of space has an opportunity for entrepreneurship and every individual in his own capacity has tremendous potential to be an entrepreneur.

Talking about the state’s Enterprise Promotion Policy, the minister said that people have now forgotten the era of ‘policy paralysis,’ due to a slew of measures taken by Haryana government
during the course of past one and a half years to promote ease of doing business across the state.
