Marking the 15th Foundation Day of Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Monday promised to stop the “forced migration” from the hills in the next four years and expressed confidence of a “reverse migration” trend in the coming years.
Rawat also presented a detailed roadmap for the development of Uttarakhand. “The state government has been able to give the message of a safe Uttarakhand to the outside world,” he said. Rawat said: “The state government is moving ahead in the direction as dreamt by statehood martyrs. Provisions of 10 per cent reservation for state activists would be considered. We should vow to place the state on the highest horizon of development.” The state was carved out of UP on November 9, 2000.
