Triptii Dimri is set to continue her streak with multiple projects lined up. Her next release is ‘Bad Newz’ which features her alongside Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk.

Serving as a sequel to the 2019 hit ‘Good Newwz’, which starred Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani, ‘Bad Newz’ explores a love triangle centered around Triptii’s pregnancy and the ensuing chaos regarding the child’s father.

Transitioning to comedy for the first time in ‘Bad Newz’, she openly shared the hurdles she faced. Speaking with a leading media house, Triptii acknowledged that comedy posed initial challenges but ultimately proved to be a fulfilling and positive experience for her as an actor.

“I have always done a lot of films in the drama genre, but I feel that as an actor, it’s important to keep doing different things and keep challenging yourself. I have found comedy a little difficult since the beginning. But in a way, it was really good for me,” she said.

Triptii expressed gratitude to her director, Anand Tiwari, for granting her the opportunity to delve into a new genre. “It was more difficult for me, especially with Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, as they are very talented and their comic timing is very good. It was difficult but a good learning experience.” She also expressed her desire to explore diverse roles in action, drama and comedy in the future.

‘Bad Newz’ delves into the unique concept of heteropaternal superfecundation, where Triptii’s character finds herself pregnant with a child fathered by two different men. Produced by Karan Johar’s ‘Dharma Productions’, it’s scheduled for a theatrical release on July 19.
