Radhikka Madan revealed that in her early years as an actor, people would often point out that she wasn’t ‘pretty enough’ and that she didn’t have a flattering jawline. While interacting with a leading media house, the actor shared that she has consciously chosen not to succumb to vanity pressures.

She mentioned that she doesn’t look down on her peers who have undergone cosmetic procedures, acknowledging that it can make them feel confident and improve their self-image, which she believes is very important.

Speaking about her decision not to conform to showbiz’s high beauty standards, despite many around her doing so, the ‘Sarfira’ star mentioned that she never felt the need to give in.

She recalled people pointing out that her jaw was slightly crooked and wondering if they expected her to sit with a scale and measure it, finding the suggestion laughable. She was surprised by such comments because, in her mind, she saw herself as Kareena Kapoor, even if others couldn’t see it. She didn’t buy into those standards at that time.

Apart from suggestions to undergo facial procedures, she divulged that she also received a lot of unsolicited advice on how to get a kick-start in the entertainment industry. She mentioned hearing things like, ‘aaj raat ke baad tumhaari life badalne waali hai’ and humorously noted that she kept waiting for a change that never came. She was advised not to step out in her usual clothes and to change her wardrobe to make a certain impression.

Radhikka added that she often wondered why none of the advice she received was related to her work. Some people told her she was doing too many arty films and should shift to commercial cinema, while others suggested the opposite. She felt like telling them to first decide what they wanted her to do.

She added that she always listens to everyone and even agrees, saying, “Absolutely correct. This is what should be done.”
