Emergency PAC meet: AAP yet to decide on Bhushan-Yadav ouster

The emergency meeting of Aam Aadmi Party’s PAC was held at Arvind Kejriwal’s in Ghaziabad residence on Wednesday night in the shadow of infighting that has hit the party for last few weeks. The PAC has given Kumar Vishwas the responsibility of looking for opportunities and taking decisions on local body elections in Maharashtra.

“In the PAC meet, we discussed about the National Executive (NE) meeting to be held this month,” said Sanjay Singh.

He further said: “Kumar Vishwas has been given responsibility to look for opportunities and take decisions on local body elections in Maharashtra. The agendas of NC meeting were discussed, among which the first was the ways in which the party can plan a movement against Land Bill.”

Speaking about the infighting within AAP, Singh said: “The dialogue that had been initiated to put an end to the current happenings in the party is still on and we are hopeful that we might come up with a solution by on Wednesday (Thursday) or Friday.”

Senior party leaders Ashutosh,Kumar Vishwas, Sanjay Singh, Dilip Pandey, Ashish Talwar, Durgesh Pathak, Ashish Khetan, Iliyas Azmi and Manish Sisodia was present in the meet.

Meanwhile, sources said that a “last effort” at reconciliation is being made by AAP’s internal lokpal
Admiral Ramdas, who is set to meet all sides over the next two days. The sources further said that in the meeting on Wednesday with Kejriwal, the party wanted the resignation of both Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav to sort out the issue. They will be assigned new roles in the party later on.

The sources further said all efforts have “virtually collapsed” as the rivals have failed to find a middle ground. The divide has reflected in issues, including volunteers in decision-making and giving more powers to the party’s state units – these are on the agenda of Saturday’s meeting.

However, Kejriwal loyalists believe that Yadav and Bhushan have not given up on their campaign to remove the CM as party chief.
