The area where the rally will be held has been cordoned off and the general public is banned from entering it.
‘A team of over two dozen senior officers and personnel of the Gujarat police landed here after which the area has been cordoned off and sanitised. We have erected tin sheets to prevent any trespass and to ensure that people enter through gates only,’ said Anil Jain, senior BJP leader and convenor of the rally. A part of the Delhi Development Authority’s ground at sector 14 in Dwarka has been barricaded with metal sheets for the purpose and even the media is not allowed to enter without scrutiny. Over two dozen armed personnel of the Delhi Police have been deployed at the venue.
Though the model code of election commission has forced the organisers to make the rally economical and low profile but a well designed stage, parking facility and chairs are being provided. ‘Everyone is eager to hear Modi and wants to see Delhi develop like Gujarat,’ said Rajesh Gehlot, BJP candidate from Matiala, who says he is lucky to host a Modi rally in his assembly seat.
