The order by the Supreme Court of not allowing private schools constructed on government lands to hike fees without the Delhi government's approval may have brought a huge sense of relief for parents in the national Capital but it is not the same in Gurugram.
Lack of regulations for private schools in Gurugram has resulted in most of the schools charging hefty fees.
A group of parents also protested against a private school after it increased the fee structure for the students citing increase in expenses due to the implementation of seventh Pay Commission proposals.
Despite the presence of numerous private schools in Gurugram, parents still have to rely on schools in Delhi for proper education of their kids.
Non-transparent guidelines, high fee structure and lack of proper complaint redressal mechanisms have resulted in parents to rely on schools in Delhi for the nursery admissions of their kids.
"Parents of nursery kids in Gurugram interested in ensuring quality education for their kids do face a lot of difficulty. They are forced to consider schools in Delhi as lack of a regulatory body for private schools in Gurugram is resulting in many private schools charging hefty amounts.
Adding the components of fee structure in private schools of Gurugram can cost a parent in lakhs of rupees. In comparison, Delhi schools are much more regulated and reasonable," said Sumit Vohra, founder of admissionnursery.com.
