Ggm: Police nab auto driver for murdering dhaba worker, dismembering body

Gurugram: The Gurugram Police on Tuesday arrested Naresh Kumar on the charges of murdering Sandeep and later cutting his upper and lower parts of the body so that the body cannot be identified easily.

The severed corpse of Sandeep Kumar stuffed in two separate gunny bags was discovered on October 15 at an under-construction site in Ashok Vihar Phase-3. Naresh who works as an auto driver was a distant relative to Sandeep Kumar (30) who used to work in a makeshift restaurant at Palam Vihar. Both Sandeep and Naresh belonged from the same village Hallalpur in Saharanpur Western Uttar Pradesh.

According to law enforcement officials, Naresh murdered Sandeep as he suspected the 30-year-old to be having an illicit relationship with his wife. On the night of October 15, Naresh asked Sandeep to join him for a party, an offer that Sandeep accepted. With an objective of getting Sandeep intoxicated, Naresh then made him consume a lot of alcohol. After Sandeep got intoxicated, Naresh sensed the opportunity and attacked the 30- year-old on his neck and head with the sharp knife that led to Sandeep's instant death.

Naresh then sliced the upper part and the lower parts of the body to make sure that the body can be stuffed into the gunny bags. Naresh then drove eight kilometres away from the crime scene to an under-construction site where he placed the two gunny bags that contained the severed corpse of Sandeep Kumar.

After the body was recovered on Friday, it took Gurugram Police more than two days to first identify the body.

"The moment we were able to identify the body we knew that we would be able to get hold of the culprit soon. We have arrested Naresh who has confessed to his crime. It was personal anger towards Sandeep that drove Naresh to commit this heinous crime," said Preet Pal Singh ACP (Crime) Gurugram Police.
