DDA housing scheme to be rolled out from 1 Sept

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Friday announced to launch registration for its flagship housing scheme from 1 September to 14 October and declared the name of lucky buyers in the first week of November. The scheme has 25,034 flats of various categories ranging from Rs 5.4 lakh to Rs 1.2 crore depending on category and location of the flat.
‘The maximum 22,627 flats are ‘one bedroom with one drawing room’ category which are constructed in 33.29 sq meter to 48.50 sq meter. The minimum cost of these flats are Rs 14.55 lakhs,’ said Balbinder Kumar, vice chairman of DDA. These flats are constructed in Dwarka, Narela and Siraspur area of Delhi. Besides 451 flats of LIG category are also on offer which will cost around Rs 14 to Rs 21.93 lakhs.
In almost similar category are 129 expandable flats. ‘The applicant must declare that he or his close relates do not own any flat or property in Delhi to qualify for the scheme. An applicant can submit only one application however spouses can submit separate applications but either will have to surrender the flat if both are declared winner in lucky draw,’ he added.
The authority has not made any reservation for residents of Delhi and all the Indian nationals can try their luck for their dream home. The authority will execute a sale deed and actual registration of the property would be done after five years of possession to prevent speculators in the scheme. The flats include newly constructed and also old flats returned to DDA due to cancellation and left over flats in earlier schemes.
Besides, middle class home buyers, the authority also has 512 MIG, 21 HIG, flats for upper class and 565 Janata Flats for lower class and 700 flats for Economically Weaker Section, those having maximum annual income of Re 1 lakh. The registration fee for all the categories has been fixed at Re 1 lakh but for EWS category it’s Re 10,000. ‘This time the authority has made a provision of online application and done away with attachments with the application forms to expedite the process and form has also simplified to one page,’informed Kumar.
The authority has also authorised 13 banks to distribute brochures and 15 lakh brochures will be published in first go and additional 10 lakhs would be published if required. The 700 EWS flats are however not ready so far and would be transferred to authority by builders under 15% mandatory provision to construct EWS flats for which DDA is yet to sign MoU with builders.
