Dadlani takes Metro route, fires up AAP’s push for Delhi

For the past two days he is travelling in the Delhi Metro and interacting with commuters to promote AAP agenda, keeping in mind the forthcoming elections.

“I came here from Mumbai and do not understand much of Delhi. AAP volunteers take me to particular Metro lines and we just travel with other commuters and interact with them. I thoroughly enjoy it. On Tuesday, I travelled on the Yellow line for a few hours and talked to the commuters. Some of them were asking me about the vision of AAP and its agenda,” said Dadlani.

“Some were discussing poll related issues too. On Wednesday, we travelled between Rajeev Chowk and Hauz Khas. We are getting a good response from the commutes,” he added.

Dadlani said the BJP got the majority verdict in the Lok Sabha election for development but that particular agenda has disappeared and love-jihad, “ghar wapsi” and other issues have taken centre-stage.

Dadlani is the first celebrity to lend his support to AAP in the forthcoming Delhi assembly elections. The music director was involved in a controversy during the last assembly election campaign in November 2013 when during a concert at Jantar Mantar, he reportedly substituted the word “haseeno” for “kameeno” in the song Bachna Ae Haseeno during his performance.

As party campaigns gain momentum in the national capital, the Delhi Metro has turned into an electoral battlefield for the political parties. Both BJP and AAP have put up about 3,000 advertising panels in the coaches of almost 40 trains. While the AAP advertisements focus solely on its convener Arvind Kejriwal, visuals of Narendra Modi dominate the saffron party’s ads. Congress has not put up any advertisement so far.
