Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said there was a paradigm shift in the Indo-China business ties, with the state emerging as a chosen destination for investment in the infrastructure and manufacturing sectors.
Fadnavis said the move would help solve India’s unemployment problem. He added that he had met industrialists in the neighbouring country, who were willing in developing ports in India and also willing to take up projects in sectors such as solar power, infrastructure, bridges and roads.
The CM said his visit to Chengdu for a conference on ‘Prospects of Investment in Maharashtra’ drew queries from investors. He said one investor expressed willingness to set up a Chinese Industrial Park in Pune, where all Chinese companies would be under one <g data-gr-id="15">roof,</g> while the state-owned Chinese Communications Construction Company (CCCC) apprised him of how they had developed China’s 42-km-long ‘Trans-Harbour Link’.Â
The CCCC assured Fadnavis that it could build a Trans-Harbour link in Mumbai in 3-4 years. The Bank of China is also willing to invest in the state. Noting that Indians account for the highest number of mobile users in the world at 7%, Fadnavis said he had visited Chinese mobile manufacturer Foxconn to discuss business.Â
