Addressing a public rally in Krishna Nagar constituency, where the BJP has fielded Bedi, the former chief minister said: “When they will lose in the polls, they will say that it was because of Kiran Bedi.”
The Aam Aadmi Party chief said Bedi, who joined the BJP recently and has been declared its chief ministerial candidate for Delhi, has joined the party to be “trapped”.
The Krishna Nagar assembly segment is considered to be a BJP bastion.
Kejriwal added, “Kiranji at a TV debate claimed that Delhi voters are not upset with soaring electricity bills.”
He asked Bedi to interact and talk to Delhiites to find out what they want. The BJP detractors accuse the party of parachuting Bedi as the BJP’s chief minister candidate.
The former Delhi chief minister claimed that the saffron party will use her as scapegoat if it loses Delhi elections. “On 10 February (the counting date), the BJP will accuse her of being responsible of its defeat,” he said. “She should not have joined the BJP at the last moment,” he added.
Kejriwal told amid cheering supporters: “BJP must’ve got a message that AAP is winning the Krishna Nagar seat in Delhi.”
The public meeting was organised at Krishna Nagar’s Vijay Chowk, which is merely a block away from former BJP legislator and Union Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan’s house.
The AAP convenor claimed that his party was confident of defeating the BJP in Delhi. “After its victory in other state polls, BJP is scared in Delhi,” he said.
Kejriwal accused the BJP of running a negative campaign against his party. He said that the BJP leaders constantly worry about “how to defeat Kejriwal”.
Talking about the ruckus at the BJP office over ticket distribution, he added: “While coming here I heard that there was vandalism at the BJP office. On one hand, AAP is rendering hope to the people and on the other, there is the BJP indulging in violence and in-fighting.”
Kejriwal, who failed to file his nomination from the New Delhi Assembly constituency on Tuesday, claimed that the massive show of support for his road show signalled his party’s success in the upcoming polls.
“There were AAP supporters as far as my eyes could see. It was because of their love and affection that I could not file my nomination today (Tuesday), but I sensed that we going to win the elections,” he said.
