BJP has no leader who can compete with Kejriwal: AAP

“Delhi needs a strong and honest leader with a proven record, and not a strong and a proxy CM. What was imminent at today’s BJP rally was that they have no leadership in Delhi and a lot of infighting going within the Delhi BJP unit,”said AAP on its social media site.

“This shows that BJP has no leader who can compete with Kejriwal’s public acceptability,”it added further. AAP also floated the name of South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri as chief minister candidate as he was main speaker in the rally from Delhi leadership. “Ramesh Bidhuri was one of the main speakers today, is he going to be the next CM candidate of Delhi from BJP?,” said AAP.

BJP leaders have been insisting that they won’t declare the name of chief ministerial candidate in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections but AAP is edging BJP to declare its chief ministerial candidate. According to AAP strategist if BJP declares any name they will make the entire election as selection of a ‘chief minister’ but BJP strategists want to put Kejriwal the most popular face of the party- Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The AAP had earlier used the name of senior most BJP MLA Jagdish Mukhi as chief ministerial candidate and even some advertisements comparing his personalities with Kejriwal for which he had served a legal notice to AAP. “Our Prime Minister is the most popular leader of our party and we had not declared the chief ministerial candidates in the election of last four assembly elections- Haryana, Maharashtra, Chhattishgarh and Jammu & Kashmir,” said Prabhat Jha, in-charge of Delhi BJP.

Several names are making rounds for the post of chief minister if BJP comes to power they are- Former Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhayay, Union Cabinet Minister Harsh Vardhan, New Delhi MP Meenakshi Lekhi, and West Delhi MP Pravesh Verma.
