Mamata likely to visit Furfura Sharif on Mon

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to visit Furfura Sharif on Monday and hold a meeting with Pirzada Toha Siddiqui. Sources said that the Chief Minister may discuss the development works of Furfua Sharif. Some are speculating about the Chief Minister’s visit to Furfura Sharif as the Assembly election is scheduled to take place in the state next year. Incidentally, Nawsad Siddique, Indian Secular Front (ISF) MLA from Bhangar on March 10 met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna. Nawsad’s visit was also speculated by a section. But Nawsad later told the media that he had told the Chief Minister that due to some administrative complications, he was unable to spend MLA-LAD funds.

It was learnt that the Chief Minister assured him all sorts of help. The Bhangar MLA had also clarified that no political discussion had taken place. The state government had granted huge funds to the Islamic shrine Furfura Sharif before the 2021 Assembly elections. Funds were given for installing high mast and LED street lights and other beautification projects of the shrine.
