The injured boy, aged about nine years, has been admitted at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital with critical injuries. Sources informed that his right hand has almost got ripped off due to the blast.

According to sources, on Sunday, the boy, a resident of Golbagan in Bashirhat of North 24 Parganas, was playing near his home. While playing he saw a round shaped object and mistook it for a ball. As soon as he picked it up and started playing, the bomb exploded. Hearing the explosion, local residents came out and saw the boy lying injured. He was rushed to Bashirhat hospital from where he was shifted to R G Kar Medical College and Hospital. The police have started a probe.
