After a lull due to poor performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are planning to reorganise and rejuvenate their party.
‘We will soon announce internal elections in the party for various posts. We are in very favour of internal democracy but we could not do it due to very short time left for Lok Sabha elections,’ said Prashant Bhushan, senior leader of AAP to Millennium Post.
The party is expected to have a meeting of parliamentary affairs committee (PAC) very soon as party convenor Arvind Kejriwal has been released from jail on Tuesday evening.
Bhushan also accepted that internal democracy in the party is one of top concerns to be discussed in the next meeting with open mind.
The party would also finalise modalities of the elections very soon.
‘We shall keep on fighting for the cause of corruption, self governance and direct democracy,’ said Bhushan. He further added that the party was formed for the cause of common man and which should not be seen by a narrow prism of win or defeat in an election.
