Snowstorm delays Trump-Merkel meeting

The first face-to-face meeting of German Chancellor Angela Merkel with US President Donald Trump, which was scheduled on Tuesday, has been postponed until Friday due to snowstorm that threatens to shut down Washington. 

Spicer told the media at the White House that the programme is likely to include a news conference, conversation and a working lunch. 

The nation's capital, which is expected to witness snow storm till Tuesday, is due for five to ten inches of snow. Forecasts said that this is the first snowfall of the year.

Mayor Bill De Blasio said that New York city could receive up to 20 inches of snow in addition to coastal flooding and wind gusts as high as 64 to 80 km per hour.

Due to major snow storm, American Airlines have cancelled at least hundreds of flights from 40 airports on Monday and Tuesday, which included major hubs like Philadelphia, New York, Washington and Chicago.
