The entire Uttarakhand is reeling under intense cold wave as higher altitude area of more than 3,000 meters witness season’s first snowfall. Famous pilgrim center Kedarnath registered 6 degrees Celsius temperature on Sunday morning, while Badrinath recorded 8 degree Celsius. Auli, famous skiing spot also witnesses season’s first snowfall on Saturday.
Heavy snowfall was seen in high altitude mountains of Kedar Valley, and Kedarnath temple precincts are under the grip of two to three feet fresh snow. It was a testing time for NIM workers to carry out reconstruction work in spine-chilling cold. The winter Char Dham yatra has come to standstill, as no visitors were seen at any pilgrim center in this season. The sun was partially visible on second consecutive day, and temperature dipped to 5 degrees Celsius, below from the last two days as Met office said.
