Mumbai police on Wednesday arrested gangster Vijay Palande in connection with his escape from the custody of crime branch officials on 10 April.
Palande was produced in the court as his custody in a murder case ended on Wednesday. The judge remanded him in judicial custody, after which he was re-arrested in the escape case, and taken into police custody again.
'He will be produced in the court in the escape case tomorrow,' said Deven Bharti, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime).
Palande's wife and model Simran Sood was granted judicial custody till 23 May.
Stock Analyst Gautam Vora is already arrested for aiding Palande after he escaped. Till now, Palande and his two accomplices have been arrested for the murders of Arun Kumar Tikku and Kakkad. On 10 April he escaped from police custody, but was caught within a few hours.
