Modi cautions voters against party who left Delhi ‘at the mercy of Cong’
‘You must learn from your experiences in the recently concluded Delhi assembly elections. They captured your votes by abusing Congress. However they formed the government with their help and eventually vacated their responsibilities. They are again helping the Congress in these elections,’ Modi said in an indirect reference to the Aam Aadmi Party.
BJP’s PM candidate was addressing a mammoth ‘Bharat Vijay’ rally in East Delhi on Wednesday evening. ‘He wants nothing to do with the welfare of the country but cares only for the welfare of the Congress,’ he added, in an apparent reference to Arvind Kejriwal.
Modi further cautioned voters that if they make mistakes this time, no one will be there to take care of Delhi. ‘India pardons mistakes but never deceits. You must recognise these cheaters and throw them out of Indian politics as they don’t have a sense of democratic responsibility,’ he said, in yet another indirect attack at AAP. Modi further added that AAP was nothing but the ‘B team’ of the Congress.
Taking a dig at Congress he said that the party lacks internal democracy and is ‘anti-Dalit’ because changed its candidate from Vadodara due to his caste. He alleged Congress’s primary for Lok Sabha candidates was just a gimmick as it changed candidates overnight.
He termed the 2014 Congress manifesto as ‘misleading and repetition of old promises’. ‘It’s a joke against the voters’, he added. He also criticised Congress for doing nothing for Muslims as it did not spend even a single rupee in the budget allocated for 90 minority-dominated districts. ‘Congress never hesitates to back stab Muslims, who are their vote bank,’ he added.
Modi also flayed Congress government for not expending Rs 2,000 crore fund allocated for Nirbhaya fund. In his 24-minute speech Modi tried to touch on each issue that is close to the heart of Delhiites and attacked Kejriwal, besides the Congress. Modi claimed that his ‘Bharat Vijay’ rally aims at a victory against ‘corruption, lies, dishonesty, bad governance and sufferings of the people’.
