Looking for right, not middle path: SC Behar

Update: 2014-01-09 00:41 GMT
‘Our goal is to bridge the gap between government and people. We want to make people feel that they own the government. People must feel “sarkar hamar hai aur raj hamara hai” (we own the government and we are the rulers),’ Behar told Millennium Post on his way to meet Delhi chief minister at the Delhi Secretariat on Wednesday.

When asked about the root cause of corruption, Behar said, ‘Globalisation promotes profiteering and individualism. Here a handful of people are engaged in profit making and serve their interest only, from her arises corruption,’ he added.

He, however, refused to comment on discontinuation of MLA and councillor development fund. ‘I can’t say if they can coexist or not. We aren’t looking for the middle but the right path,’ he said refusing to comment on the issue. Behar accepted that he is new in the city so is passing most of his time meeting people and government officers to understand it in a better way. ‘I am collecting the maximum possible information from all the sources and suggestions,’ he added.
