Kolkata: The South-Eastern Railway and Eastern Railway have cancelled all Mail and Express trains between 7 am and 9 pm on Sunday in view of the 'Janata Curfew'. Metro services will also be curtailed on Sunday.
Eastern Railway will run 341 EMU locals from Howrah Division and another 500 EMU locals from Sealdah. At least 788 local trains ply in the Sealdah Division on Sundays.
"54 trains (Up and Down) will run on Sunday between Noapara and Kavi Subhas at an interval of 30 minutes instead of 124 trains at 20 minutes interval. In case of the East-West Metro, there will be 34 services instead of 50," a spokesperson of Metro Railways said.
The important trains of South Eastern Railway which will remain cancelled on Sunday includes 12021/12022 Howrah-Barbil-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express, 12814/12813 Tatanagar-Howrah-Tatanagar Steel Express, 12827/12828 Howrah-Purulia-Howrah Express, 12857/12858 Howrah-Digha-Howrah Tamralipta Express, 22897/22898 Howrah-Digha-Howrah Kandari Express, 12871 Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express, 18409 Howrah-Puri Sri Jagannath Express. 18627/18628 Howrah-Ranchi-Howrah Intercity Express, 13304 Ranchi-Dhanbad Intercity Express, 18635 Ranchi-Sasaram Express, 13320 Ranchi-Deoghar Express, 22839/22840 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Intercity Express, 22855 Santragachi-Tirupati Express, 22875/22876 Kharagpur-Purulia-Kharagpur Intercity Express, 12810 Howrah-Mumbai CSMT Mail have been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 10.45 pm.
12863 Howrah-Yesvantpur Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 9.11 pm instead of 8.35 pm. 18005 Howrah-Jagdalpur Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 11.15 pm. 12130 Howrah-Pune Azad Hind Express has been rescheduled to leave Howrah at 1.15 am on March 23. 12950 Santragachi-Porbander Kavi Guru Express has been rescheduled to leave Santragachi at 10.45 pm on March 22. 19659 Shalimar-Udaipur Express has been rescheduled to leave Shalimar at 10.20 pm.
Private buses on long-distance routes will not operate on Sunday and the bus owners' organisation has left it upon the drivers and conductors on whether they should run buses on the regular routes.
