According to the sources, the police are also planning to train one of its battalion from NSG (National Security Guard) to counter any possible terror threat. ‘The matter has been discussed with concerned agencies. Once the police get the nod from them, the cops below the age of 35 can take part in the training program’, said the source.
The source further said the police have also asked the airport operator DIAL to either cover the forest area near airport with fencing or make access path for patrolling.
Meanwhile, the source also informed that the much-awaited new police station building, which was to be built at Terminal 3 of the airport, got the final approval. The construction work is likely to start in December.
