Goa police arrest Karnataka criminal

Goa police have arrested a man from Karnataka for stealing mobile phones from the shops in the
border villages.

Rajaram Hawaldar, a history-sheeter from neighbouring Khanapur area of Karnataka, was arrested at his native place by a team of Collem police, led by police inspector Jivba Dalvi.

Police recovered 38 mobile phones from him. Hawaldar confessed to committing more crimes in the area, police said. Police suspect that he could be behind several other thefts.

The mobile phones recovered from the Hawaldar were stolen from a shop on 28 March, he told the police. More arrests are expected, police sources said.
