After eight successful raids conducted by the Health department of Gurgaon, the district administration has decided to take more definite steps to keep a check on the growing concept of Pre-Natal Sex Determination tests in the city.

After busting another sex determination racket at Bhatnagar Hospital at Railway Road in Gurgaon on Sunday, the district administration team also found a few things that could lead them to other hospitals allegedly practising the same crime. When the team raided the residence of Dr

Krishna, Lady Health Visitor (LHV) of the aforementioned hospital, they also found several envelopes, some with cash, some with information about other patients and hospitals which will be investigated by the Health department.

The district administration has also appealed to the doctors as well as the community at large to come forward and report if any clinic or doctors are conducting sex determination tests in Gurgaon.

The district administration also assured the safety, identity and incentives of the plausible informers and volunteers.

During the meet, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) T L Satyaprakash said that the department has conducted over nine raids in the suspected hospitals and clinics, of which only one was unsuccessful.

“The district administration is taking several steps to reduce the cases of sex determination. The officials have conducted eight successful raids of the total nine raids and will continue to do the same in future,” the DC said.

He further emphasised that the raids and sting operations by the department will help in increasing the overall sex ratio of the state.
