Starting singing at the age of six, the playback singer and lyricist of Bollywood – Priya Saraiya tells that she didn't even know what 'making a career' meant as she just went with the flow.
Priya, who is known for songs like 'Sun Sathiya' and 'Bezubaan Phir Se' from the film ABCD 2 always had an urge to learn and explore music more than anything, which the singer says she continues to have even now.
She never planned on getting into Bollywood, was happy travelling for her independent shows until she got an opportunity to sing "Sun Saathiya". The singer feels that she got more recognition and immense opportunities as a singer post her Bollywood debut.
Priya met her husband, Jigar through Facebook for work. "He was looking for someone to pen down lyrics for a song he and Sachin were making and he contacted me on facebook for the same," she says.
Speaking about her married life she reveals that their relationship is not just a marriage bond but it has a lot more to it. "Wherever there is music, there is life and we always discuss music at home, learn together, make and fight on our compositions, but it is all so amazing", she adds.
Being really happy and excited about the platform like Youtube, where the response is so quick, she says, "Back in the 90s we didn't have Youtube, I remember singers, lyricists used to line up outside music composers and producers studios and wait for their luck to strike. But now finding good talent has become so easy. It is a great help".
Also, she added that if she would have got a platform like Youtube in her initial years, she would have made a proper use of it and recorded more songs by now.
Talking about the emerging era of technology and electro-music, she believes that with the technological advancements and music-made easy, anyone and everyone might become a singer but the audience is smart enough to judge if the person is actually good enough or not.
Apart from being a singer, Priya is also a lyricist who has penned songs for films like Bhoomi.
On being famous and treating stardom, she admits that she is not that famous right now and says, "I haven't tasted stardom yet, there is a long way to go. But whatever I have achieved so far has made me more humble and grateful."
