Golden Globes 2025: ‘The Brutalist’, ‘Shōgun’ & ‘Emilia Pérez’ win top honours

The winners of the 82nd Golden Globe Awards were announced, drawing significant attention for their diverse range of nominees across film and television. ‘Shōgun’ won top honours, including ‘Best Male and Female Actor in a Television Series’, ‘Best Television Series’ and more. ‘Emilia Pérez’, ‘Baby Reindeer’ and ‘Hacks’ also secured top awards. Adrien Brody and Fernanda Torres won ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Actress’ awards, respectively for ‘The Brutalist’ and ‘I’m Still Here’. ‘The Brutalist’ also won the prestigious ‘Best Film’ Golden Globe.

This year holds special significance for India, as ‘All We Imagine As Light’ by Payal Kapadia emerged as a notable contender in the ‘Best Motion Picture: Non-English Language’ category. However, the film lost in this category to ‘Emilia Pérez’. Not only was the film nominated in this prestigious category, but Kapadia also received a nomination for ‘Best Director’, marking a historic achievement as the first Indian filmmaker nominated for an Indian film at the Globes. But the film lost in this category too.
