New Delhi: An elderly man allegedly committed suicide by jumping before an incoming metro train at Kashmere Gate Metro station in Delhi on Sunday. The incident took place at around 22:50 pm at platform number 2 at the Kashmere Gate Metro Station. "The victim is still unidentified and no suicide note was recovered from his possession," said Pankaj Singh, DCP Metro Police. He also added that efforts are being made to identify the body.
Soon after the incident, CISF and Delhi Metro personnel reached the spot. Police are trying to ascertain why the deceased took the extreme step. Metro operations were resumed after 20 minutes. "With the help of house keeping staff, the passenger was taken out of the tracks. Later, the metro police took the body to Tis Hazari Mortuary for further probe," said a CISF official.
