New Delhi: The DCW on its 181 helpline received a complaint and during the field visit the members were attacked and the rescue van was vandalised by the miscreants. The complaint was from a lady who informed the Commission that her husband was getting remarried without giving her a divorce. A team deputed by the Commission reached the
location in Paschim Vihar area along with a team of Delhi Police. The team successfully intervened and stopped the marriage but the man and his family got furious and attacked the team. The team somehow managed to save their lives
and escape but the relatives caught hold of one of the DCW counsellors and snatched her
bag and mobile.
